Privacy Policy
Last updated October 28, 2026
Kōnst is a workout, nutrition and health tracker made by an independent developer. This page explains what the app keeps, what it sends and to whom, and the choices you have. The same policy is inside the app under Settings → Privacy, where it goes into more detail.
The short version
- Your training data is kept on your phone and backed up to your account so it survives a new phone. Your food is kept in your account, with a copy on your phone.
- The AI features (the coach, Log with AI, voice logging) send some of your data to outside AI services, and only after you allow them. You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising identifiers or analytics tracking.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email and display name when you sign in, so we know it is you and can restore your data on a new phone.
- What you log. Workouts, routines, sets, meals, goals, journal answers and notes, plans, and conversations with the coach. These are stored on your phone and in your account on our backend.
- Data from Apple Health or Health Connect, if you connect it. Workouts (including their heart-rate trace), body measurements, and a once-a-day summary of readings such as sleep, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, steps and activity. The individual raw readings stay on your phone. The app also stores which device recorded a reading, which phone in your account reads your health data, and a coarse history of your phone's time zone so that times of day stay correct.
- A profile photo, if you set one.
- Food searches. When you search the shared food database, what you type is sent to our backend to find matches. If you ask Kōnst to identify a food it could not find, the name you typed and the estimate may be kept and, after review, added to the shared database. It is never shown with your name.
What stays on your phone
Raw health readings, meal photos and body-scan photos are not stored on our servers. A photo you ask the AI to read passes through our server on its way to the AI provider; it is not filed away by us.
AI features
Kōnst asks before using its AI features, and you can change your answer any time in Settings → Privacy. While they are off, the app does not send your data to an AI provider.
When they are on, the data sent depends on the feature and can include: the words, photos and voice notes you log meals with, and the names of foods you have logged recently when a word could mean more than one food; a body-scan photo you ask the app to read; and your workouts, nutrition, profile and body measurements, the health numbers on the screen whose coach you open, and facts the coach has saved about you. Some coach summaries are prepared when you open a screen, not only when you tap.
Today the AI provider is OpenAI, and voice notes are turned into text by Google (with OpenAI as a fallback). Providers can change over time; the in-app policy names the current ones. How each provider handles what it receives, including how long it is kept, is set by that provider's own terms.
AI replies can be wrong. See our Terms.
Crash reports
When the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, a report goes to Sentry, our crash-reporting provider. It carries the error, where in our code it happened, and your device model and app version. It is set up not to include your account, email, IP address or device name, and to strip personal details from the error text where it can.
What we don't collect
- Your contacts or calendar
- Your location (no GPS or background tracking)
- Advertising identifiers
- Analytics or usage tracking
Health data
Data from Apple Health or Health Connect is used only to provide the app's features to you. It is not used for advertising, not sold, and not shared with anyone other than the service providers listed below, as described on this page.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run Kōnst. They process data on our behalf, and some may be located outside your country, including in the United States.
- Supabase (hosted on AWS): our database, accounts and file storage.
- OpenAI and Google: AI replies and speech-to-text, only when the AI features are on.
- Sentry: crash reports.
- Cloudflare: serves exercise animations and food pictures.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account. This deletes your data from our database. Copies may remain in our hosting provider's backups for a limited period before they are overwritten. Signing out removes your data from that phone.
If you would like a copy of your data, email us and we will do our best to help. A full in-app export is not available yet.
Children
Kōnst is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will try to mention significant changes in the app.
